Rainy days and sick days

We've been spending lots of time together this week in the house. Todd, Claire and I have had colds all week and we didn't want to share them with anybody! We also had a bit of rain and cold weather.
Recognize this costume from last year?
Todd pulled the bench away from the piano and climbed up by himself. Such a cutie!

We couldn't help but do another craft. Who knew toilet paper bats could look so cute?

Watching a movie together. Sometimes instead of popcorn, we like to eat microwaved edamame beans.
After making the bat craft, Claire just started improvising a craft on her own and kept herself busy for quite a while.
What a Claire craft looks like.
Now that Todd can walk, he loves this ball.

Can you tell that Todd is using a Doctor's reflex hammer? I guess that works too.

Impromptu tea party on the bed.

Two tricks that I whipped out one day were a fort, and an educational globe that I got at a yard sale that I put new batteries in. Claire got a lot of exposure to the names of the continents and random facts about cultures that day. I thought my brother, Sterling, would be proud.
Claire thought it was pretty cool eating grapes and crackers under the fort too.

Boomer, Sooner!

We went to an Elder's Quorum tailgate party that reminded me of a family reunion. Lots of food and family time together.
Exercising with mom in ballet clothes.

 On the move together.
This is a fun paper project that was inspired from the book pictured below.

Claire, Todd and I were invited to go to a family school night where we were challenged to use certain materials to keep an egg from breaking when dropped from a certain height. Some students from the OU Engineering department conducted it. It was a fun challenge and our egg didn't break!
Of course we had some goodies while we were at it :)

Because I Love It

I had to share this candy cake that I made for our trunk-or-treat coming up.I love it! I don't often get to finishing something all the way through, or do exactly what I dreamed up and make it happen so I have a lot of pride for this candy cake! I love creating, it gives me a high. And you're right if you guess that I love Pinterest.
Enjoy!

Todd is walking!!!

I don't have a picture of it, but Todd is taking so many steps! His average is about six steps before falling down and he's constantly practicing around the house. I love to look at his face and celebrate with him whenever he takes those steps. He also screams and growls a lot because he can't talk yet, but he is super cute most of the time. He has a passion for bikes. We went to a friend's house and was all over their radio flyer bike where the pedals can fold into the wheel so he can scoot with his feet. He's also getting more teeth. I love my little baby boy!

Sometimes Claire will ask if she can type at the computer. We use this as an opportunity for her to find letters and be allowed to do something she normally can't because we're hogging the computer!
 I spy some red leaves!
 Completely out.
We are trying a ballet class with a small group of friends. I was excited to find this Disney princess ballet bag and tutu at a thrift store. I was also happy that we could get her ballet shoes, and mine for the wedding at the same time to take advantage of a BOGO half off sale.
 The tunnel at the park.

Sometimes Claire wants to be a baby too, hence the blanket in her hand.
These are a collection of Halloween cards from over the years. They always bring a smile to my face.

It's autumn time, it's autumn time!

 Some of our chalk creations.
I like to look at coloring books for a reference picture, otherwise I keep drawing the same things over and over again (like flowers, hearts and stars). This is supposed to be Christopher Robin from a Halloween water coloring book. But if I added glasses, he could be Harry Potter!
I drew a pumpkin, and then Claire drew her own pumpkin, and added faces to them.
Our completed pumpkin for the year. Claire can't decide if she's going to be a cupcake or Elsa for Halloween.

These were Skyler's conference weekend creations: peach pastries!

Todd can easily ride this horse and the tricycle.
