Baby Talk

Claire is getting really good at telling us stories and what she thinks about our parenting style:

WA trip

We had a wonderful time in Washington; thanks for having us! Highlights included watching Claire flip from her stomach to her back for her first time, watching The Lorax and Decoy Bride (with David Tennant!), catching up with family, eating Belgian sugar waffles (and other deadly sweets), listening to The Three Musketeers on CD on the drive there and back, thrifting (me) and playing games (Skyler).

Our little Jabberbaby

I was waiting in the car with Claire while Lisa went to talk to some friends for a bit. So Claire and I had a little conversation. Enjoy this video of Claire jabbering away.

This is Claire's throne. It consists of a nursing pillow propped up by another pillow, and a blanket is underneath. You could say her scepter is a baby rattle. She is content until her kicking causes her to slide down so that she's on her back. Then chaos breaks out.

By the way, we'll be coming to Washington soon. We'll probably do our traveling Saturday the 18th.

The wiggles have begun

Claire is starting to move! When we set her on the floor she won't stay on her blanket long. She is so close to flipping over, but her efforts just make her rotate so that she'll move in a circle and eventually end up where she began-a full 360. We also found out why baby swings have straps. In one of the pictures you can see that when she arched her back, she almost came out!

 If Claire were a celebrity baby...

 If I put Claire's fingers around this rattle, she'll hold onto it and sometimes try to stick it in her mouth.

 She likes to suck on her fingers, it doesn't matter which hand.

 We had a really cold night one night.

 Sometimes she likes to stick both of her hands in her mouth at the same time! lol

She was falling asleep while Skyler and I were chatting with friends.
