On your mark... GO GO GO!

Lisa started into gentle contractions Wednesday morning. We were preparing for the long haul. Last time this type of contractions started about 24 hours before birth. They continued this way until noon when she had three big contractions in quick succession, and they didn't slow down! We still hadn't dropped off Claire and quickly realized that there wouldn't be time. Lisa didn't want to fight her body and her body wanted to have the baby! Adrenaline kicked in, Todd started crowning halfway there and was fully birthed about five minutes before we made it to the hospital.

Todd Ritter Hebdon was born somewhere around 1:30 pm weighing 7 lb 7 oz and 19in long. He spent the first few hours in the NICU because apparently the front seat of the car isn't sterile enough for them. Lisa had no complications and they will be coming home Friday afternoon.

Here are some photos of the family. I will save the photos of the car for the insurance people. If they end up helping us replace the seat, I will be expecting to hear from them about using or story for a commercial.

A Healthy Dose of Claire

Hello! After going to Washington, my blogging routine went down hill, so here are a bunch of pictures from this summer. As you can tell, Claire often enjoys helping me cook. We've made many trips to the library and the park. Mom requested some maternity pictures, so I had Skyler snap a few. There's a picture of the table and decorations from my baby shower, a cool digger cake from a birthday party we attended, and soda from Pop's on Route 66. We just got our rocking chair, which is a plain, practical, grandpa recliner, but I am looking forward to its padded seat when I nurse! The due date is coming and we're ready! We hope everyone has been enjoying their summer. Love, The Hebdons

Getting ready to be "Big Sister"

I was going to give the post the title of "Big Sister," but quickly realized that it wouldn't be very kind to family and friends watching for baby #2 to come. My lab put on a combined wedding/baby shower to celebrate my coworkers wedding next week and the upcoming birth of our son. One of the girls in the lab also made some washclothes and the undergraduate who has been working with me mall summer got Claire a T-shirt. There was also a very generous gift card which combined contributions from the entire lab.

Claire loves her white dress that Christine made for her to wear at Angela and Tanner's wedding this spring. In this picture she wasn't exactly enthusiastic about family prayer, but she knelt down just the same.

A few Sunday's ago I left Lisa and Claire in the lobby while I sneaked into the the office to grab the laptop to video chat with the family. This is what I came back to.

There's nothing special about this last photo, except for the people in it. We have had a few requests for photos of Lisa and we did a small photo shoot, but I don't have those with me right now. I guess you'll have to see them later.

In other news, we signed paperwork to sell our trailer home in Rexburg. We won't be getting rich, but it is nice to not have to worry about finding renters as good as this first couple was. That little purchase cut our housing costs by at least half. Yay! Now, to find a similar deal in Norman.
