Baby, baby

David requested that there be more Claire on the blog, so here she is :) She just had her three month Birthday. She smiles more, wiggles more, sucks her hands more, and is growing more hair.

The Bountiful Basket Adventures Continue!

You may have heard about our mango shakes, our attempts at plantain chips, our trial and error with kale chips, or the spaghetti squash noodles with spaghetti sauce we've had in the last few weeks.

These are just a few of our favorite experiments in our efforts to use up the odds and ends of our bountiful basket.

Here is a photo recap of our (my) latest experiments.

It looks a bit like cornbread muffins with homemade strawberry jam. Those of you who aren't colorblind are probably thinking that the color of the jar is way wrong to be strawberries. You're right!

At a closer look, this is actually a squash muffin topped with butter and homemade plum-lime-ginger jam!
We didn't know you could do that either. We had a ton of plums that were going bad and a few limes we didn't have much use for. We just happened to find a recipe that used both. The ginger adds an interesting flavor. Lisa says it smells like a Christmas candle. It's an interesting blend but these muffins and jam go great together. We inhaled a dozen while the second batch was still in the oven.

Here are links to the recipes if you want to give them a try.

I didn't have 10 cups of plums, so I improvised. Your results may be completely different from ours.

Enjoy!

Dear Friends and Family,

It seems that, after getting married and moving away, the proper thing to do is to start a blog and post all kinds of fun and cute pictures and to write about all those little things that make life real. So after almost two years of marriage we will finally start our blog. You can expect lots of photos of Claire mixed with an occasional, reluctant photo of Lisa or myself.

This is actually Lisa's blog, built from her account, but since she is taking care of Claire I get to steel in and write the first post! I think it is only appropriate to show one of Claire's first tricks on our first post.

Don't worry about the creaking noises, our trailer is not about to collapse, that's just me getting out of the chair to see what Lisa was doing with the camera.

We hope you enjoy the video!

Love,
The Hebdons
