Toddler

So when infants begin to walk they become toddlers and Claire is becoming just that. She is obsessed with trying on shoes and relocating them. Sometimes she’ll get really upset about something that I think isn’t a big deal, or I have no idea what made her upset. For example, the other day we were eating pizza together and when I tore her piece in half she freaked out. She figured out how to take the outfit off of her baby doll and likes to cuddle with it and carry it around. She is already showing signs of being a good helper. She’ll hand me the silverware one at a time so I can put them in the drawer, while I was making dinner she peeled the wrappers off of several bouillon cubes, handed me the cubes, and threw away the wrappers, and the last time I folded the laundry she was able to put her pants away in her own little drawer. I’m lucky that she still gives good hugs and cuddles. That’s when I like to rub my cheek against her warm, fuzzy head and give her kisses. Infant or toddler, we love you Claire!

Mmmm, mmm!

Claire knows how to fold her arms for prayer, likes to play in the tub after we wash her hair, and sometimes says “mmm, mmm!” when she’s eating something. There are only a couple of low quality pictures this post, but hopefully the video will work and you can get a sample of Claire talking and playing with her bin of bath things. So cute!

I don’t know if I’ve written about it already, but Skyler and I have callings now. Skyler is Cubmaster and I teach four 4-turning-5 year olds in primary. Skyler hasn’t done much yet with his calling since they haven’t done much during the summer months, but the teacher in me is loving my calling! Love, The Hebdons

School and Football begin!

We’re starting to feel a slightly cooler breeze this September. I’m excited to see what it’s like in the fall here. Claire has been bold and walks on her own and tries to climbs things now! She talks in her own language a lot and loves to play with my nail polish bottles in a rainbow makeup bag. Her favorite foods right now are raisins, pretzels, strawberries, PB&J and usually whatever we’re eating. We love her to pieces! The Sooners had their first home game and there are many to come. Someday we’ll go to one, but for now we’re content watching all of the Sooner Spirit around town.

p.s. We got a free piano! How lucky is that? Yes it smells funny, has chipped keys and is twangy, but it’s free so we’re not complaining!
