goggles, caboodles and crayons

Skyler’s first week of school was demanding in hours. It’s easier for someone who is single to attend something from 7-9pm four nights in a row! Thankfully that’s over and it shouldn’t be like that every week. We went to the temple this weekend and were able to carpool with another couple. The session we were going to attend was full, so we did sealings (sp?) instead. I enjoyed thinking about our wedding day in the Columbia River Temple, how beautiful and peaceful the temple is, and how we can give that blessing to others who have passed away without it.

Pictures: Dad’s brand new goggles, trying on headbands at the window, often when I take a picture Claire wants the camera so that’s why she’s pointing, Claire discovered how to get into my makeup Caboodle (I know, I still use one-is that a good or bad thing?), Claire loved eating strawberries Sunday morning!, sorry it’s blurry but Claire was so happy pushing her doll around the house on this empty cooler like a stroller, for FHE we were listening to something so I thought it would be fun to introduce Claire to crayons and taped a big piece of paper on our coffee table and all three of us enjoyed drawing, hopefully this video works but Claire was playing with shampoo bottles and our cooler and started dancing a bit. We hope you’re enjoying the end of the summer too! Love, The Hebdons

Anniversary

This last week we celebrated our third wedding anniversary. I know some people would consider us newly-weds and others would consider us an old married couple. However you see it, we are happy to be together forever and to have Claire be with us too. We spent the day eating chips (Skyler) and chocolate (Lisa), visited the wonderful art museum on campus, tried some Moroccan food for dinner, and watched The Sound of Music. We got to see The Sound of Music live in the Mountains on our Honeymoon, so it was fun to watch it again and remember how fun that was. Of course, we love the movie too; Julie Andrews is the best. We hope everyone is enjoying the end of the summer. We can feel the anticipation of school starting at OU. Their first home game will be the last Saturday of this month. Love, The Hebdons

She often tries to put these sandals on and sometimes gets frustrated even though it's obvious they're just not going to fit!
 You're bottle is upside down.

This vanilla bottle looked like a baby sized water bottle.
 She can't open pens...yet.
I love this picture of her hugging my legs.

Grad School Starts

August has arrived and Skyler will be taking placement tests this week, doing orientations and training next week, and starting grad school on the nineteenth. Pictures this week include Claire and I’m in one of the pictures. Usually it’s Claire and Skyler since I’m the one taking pictures. She is starting to copy what I do. She talks on my cell phone, turns the pages of the scriptures and usually wants to sit at the computer desk or table with me. The picture with the duck on her head is just silly and there’s a picture of her pulling wipes out of a wipe container, which she’s done before, but I took a picture this time. Then I put the ones she pulled out into an empty Huggies wipe container and stashed the wipes out of her reach. I started doing Zumba this week with some friends in the church gym. Claire plays in the gym with toys and a bunch of other kids while I’m doing it and handles it very well.
