Oh, What do you do in the Summertime?

The can said "broken pitted olives" not "ginormous olives"!
He thought it was pretty cool climbing into his swing and sitting on his toys.
I love this picture. This boy is standing all of the time now! and he got another tooth on the bottom, making that seven teeth. He just turned eleven months old.

This is what the side of our place looks like.
One of my students and his cousin got baptized and they sang a song with their siblings and cousins.
Claire likes to do chalk. I drew, she colored.
Todd let out the cutest giggles of delight!

This "train" of little folded towels made me smile. Claire is good at helping me around the house.

It was too hot to go to the park, so we painted instead.

She had fun mixing the colors. She drew and painted an ice cream cone with several scoops.

I love to watch Skyler read to Claire.

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th. I decided to purposefully not take any pictures of what we did so that I could fully embrace the holiday and time with friends. We got adventurous this year and went boating at the end of the day, which was a little crazy when it rained on us and the kids were up way past their bedtime. But, we saw a rainbow, and I think the kids enjoyed being on the lake and seeing the boats. Rainbow fish crackers, a banana, baseball cap and glow sticks made it even more fun for them. It actually looked really cool to see rain clouds come through, then see the lake calm down and the bright sun, a pink sunset, and then watch fireworks go off and see thunder in the big, puffy, distant clouds. Quite the show!
We're trying something different and using visuals, goals and a bribe. We'll see what happens. Claire colored this herself and already picked out a specific restaurant.
 I love sleeping babies!
Claire strapped my sandals to her feet.
Todd likes to get into the diaper bag.
Claire likes to be right by his side.
These are my favorite sandals. I bought them for my graduation from BYUI and they had their last day on the 4th of July this year. They were starting to get holes in the fabric on the heel part.We went boating with some friends and the soles died from all of the water exposure. I had to take a picture of them before I threw them away.
Grandma sent Claire a new dress. Can you name all of the My Little Ponies?
Todd has taken up the kazoo. He also likes to play the keyboard, drum, tambourine, and shaker egg!
Look at those little toes! He can pull himself into a standing position with help and go from a crawling position to having his hands and feet on the ground with his bum in the air.
This is a picture of the one curl on the top of Todd's head. After coming back from the splash pad and taking a nap, he had this curl for several days. So cute!
These are our friends that just moved, and it is too quiet without them. Claire had so much fun playing with them. We would often have dance parties and here they are playing instruments.

Running Around

Todd and I love avocados. They are so delicious!

We found Skyler's chef hats and had fun baking muffins and pizza with them on.

I love the movement in this picture. Claire and her friends love dancing and going in circles on this rug when I turn on music.
Some cool clouds during sunset. Usually I don't enjoy cool looking clouds in the sky because it means tornadoes or severe storms, but these just meant a little thunder and lightning. This is over our back fence.
This is over our front lawn, and ignore our sad looking tree.
Dinosaur soup anyone? I saw Claire doing this and had to take a picture! That knife is supposed to be for plastic food that you cut apart because it's held together with velcro, but I guess a dinosaur works too!

This was after church. Claire was singing a song they learned in nursery and running around this table. It sounded like this: "What do you do in the summer time! What do you do in the summer time! What do you do. What do you do. What do you do..." for several minutes.
