Lisa started into gentle contractions Wednesday morning. We were preparing for the long haul. Last time this type of contractions started about 24 hours before birth. They continued this way until noon when she had three big contractions in quick succession, and they didn't slow down! We still hadn't dropped off Claire and quickly realized that there wouldn't be time. Lisa didn't want to fight her body and her body wanted to have the baby! Adrenaline kicked in, Todd started crowning halfway there and was fully birthed about five minutes before we made it to the hospital.
Todd Ritter Hebdon was born somewhere around 1:30 pm weighing 7 lb 7 oz and 19in long. He spent the first few hours in the NICU because apparently the front seat of the car isn't sterile enough for them. Lisa had no complications and they will be coming home Friday afternoon.
Here are some photos of the family. I will save the photos of the car for the insurance people. If they end up helping us replace the seat, I will be expecting to hear from them about using or story for a commercial.
I am offended. You always keep the front seat of the car so clean.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad they are both ok! and congradulations, he's beautiful! I can't believe how fast it happened! That's my greatest fear right now because the hospital is about 30 minutes away. But it looks like the front seat of the car would work too haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I got the story in person... all the details make it a fantastic story!
