Ketchup... I mean, Catch up!

Lisa wants me to say first off that I am writing this, not her so blame me for anything strange. We've been in Oklahoma for almost a month now and we're finally posting about our move. You can tell that Claire is napping in Idaho in these pictures  because there are several blankets on the bed.

 Moving out... yuck!

 Packing the trailer to take it to Idaho Falls, Parker graciously donated his time and huge muscles to the cause. And yes, he is just as pale as I am because he too is a recent chemistry graduate and has not seen the sun for a few years.

 Done! (Or at least we thought)

 Even though we had a reservation they didn't have a box ready for us, but we still got it all squared away and packed in under 30 minutes!

 We wish we had more things to fill the box better. We're not to excited to pay to have Idaho air shipped.

 Parker not only donated his day to us, but he also took us out to Texas Roadhouse, where we took advantage of the free "cactus blossom" (deep fried onion, yum!) and we had a delicious meal.

We also repainted the wall after everything was moved out and it looks great. I hope our new renters enjoy it!

 This next few pictures are from our neighbors garden. Lisa loves this yard and snapped a few quick pictures as we passed by to say goodbye to friends.

 This picture is either of us in Wyoming. Claire was having a fit and we decided to stop at the next decent place and the next building we found was an LDS church building. A very decent place to stop. We also watched a lightning storm pass in front of us while we at some lunch.

Claire was always so very happy to get out of the carseat. Our AC was on the fritz again and the poor girl was suffering pretty badly in her carseat.

So when we packed we purposefully kept things for us to take with us and use when we got to our new place. But then there were many things that we just plain forgot to pack, so our car was filled to the brim. We had to keep the rear doors closed the entire way. We had to load Claire into and out of her seat from the front of the car.

All this and more was packed into our car. It was a good thing too because they still haven't shipped our box after 1 whole month!!!! (GRRR)

I didn't know a kitchen could be smaller than the one in our trailer, but it happened. Oh it took a few burnt pizzas and cookies to find out that our oven has broil and bake labelled backwards. Now that we know it works just fine.

The bathroom is also just as small as the one in our trailer (or smaller).

 Our first Sunday we showed up to our Sunday church meetings and found that everybody was in working clothes getting ready to go clean up tornado stricken homes. We went home and changed and met up to help out. One of the gentlemen in the group offered us some furniture and this is the couch and coffee table that he gave us. We were so happy to not have to sit on the floor. I couldn't help but smile every time I sat down and we loved having a little table to eat at again.
Tevia from the fiddler on the roof said something about his daughter and son in law being poor but they are so happy that they don't know how miserable they really are. We are so happy to be here and to have Claire with us that we don't realize how dismal our situation is for now until we stop to think about it. Then we shrug our shoulders and try to get Claire to giggle again.

We love her smile!

 And she watches mom organize things so much that Claires new favorite past time is to move things from one container to another.

Oooo-klahoma

We made it to Norman and we're getting settled in. It's been a busy first 10 days here. The day after we moved into our apartment we listened to the radio as they tracked a tornado and 100 mph winds about ten miles east of us. I (Skyler) started working in a biochemistry lab and Lisa has been doing her best to make our apartment more like home. This Friday I woke up with what turns out to be erythema multiforme. I've spent all weekend downing benadryl and some steroids the doctor gave me. It's mostly gone, just a few more days of treatment and I should be back to normal. 

These pictures below are of us in a vacant restaurant booth on campus waiting to talk with the Quinns.

Claire is getting more teeth including at least one molar and we're happy that she may be getting a bit more rounded than before.

Baby with one sock

Every once in a while Claire will only have one sock on. Sometimes I think it's cute and sometimes it bugs me and I either want both of them on or off. But, when it comes down to it, I'm looking at her sweet face instead of her feet!

I think she's holding onto a chunk of pancake in those orange pictures. She's pretty good about sitting on the couch on her own. We still need to teach her how to get down though.

 We're going to miss seeing these horses all of the time. Sunday morning we watched them running around while eating our breakfast.

 The sky and fields are so beautiful right now and I had to capture some of the things we see everyday to help document Rexburg for us before we move.

Final Rexburg Adventures

This last week we visited Grandma and Grandpa Arave, went to The PianoGuys concert and went on an adventure with friends in Harriman State Park and West Yellowstone. Mother's Day was a sunny day of best wishes and thoughtful gifts. Even though we don't have pictures from The PianoGuys, it was a great concert. The day we plan to head out is the 27th. Please spread the word that our trailer is still for sale!

 We ate dinner at the Araves and enjoyed chatting with them.

 Claire loves to look outside and her eyes look so blue in the natural light!

 Skyler absolutely loves it when she cuddles with him.

 Skyler likes to transport Claire on his shoulders (and he is very careful that her head doesn't hit anything) and she loves to be on his shoulders. I imagine it's like riding an elephant or any other tall animal.

Claire went into her one year appointment Monday and was happy and healthy, but the rest of the week she's been sick. She's had many ugly, sad and cute moments during the week. Thankfully Skyler and I have been able to switch off taking care of her and have given her medicine during this time. I took this picture of her this morning:

Right now she has a banana in her tummy and we're listening to primary songs while playing with her toy horses.
