Barely Five Months
She rotated in her crib and stuck her feet out
After a bath
When she's not sleeping in her bouncy she likes me to have her sit up in it
This is at a house I was babysitting at
She rarely rests her head when on her tummy and she decided to pose in a cool way, so I took a picture

It's just what we do
We made it through the second full week of school this semester! Thankfully I have Claire to keep me company while Skyler is gone, plus some good girl friends to walk with, watch movies with, and sew with. Yeah, I busted out the sewing machine this week and there are so many potential things to be made, mended and refashioned! Yesterday Claire rolled over from her back, to her side, and onto her tummy for the first time.
I took this picture after Claire got her four month shots. She's been pretty chill about getting shots.
I love it when I'm on the couch or in the kitchen and I look over and see Claire looking between the crib slats at me, and then she smiles like she is in this picture.
Claire rarely stays in the middle of her blanket anymore.
Bum ruffles!
She's getting better at holding onto her toys.
I found out that Claire's throne has a little Velcro thing that keeps her from sliding down or fall on her face when I leave her sitting in it. Yay!
Sunday afternoon with Daddy
These are the horses that are across from our trailer. We feed them apple cores and veggies that didn't get eaten soon enough. Sometimes I pet them. We don't know their real names, so we named them Blue and Freddy. There used to be a dark brown horse that we named Thunder, but I think they sold him.

The Common Cold
So, first Skyler had it, then Claire got it (thankfully only for a few days), and now I have it. Sore throat, coughing, tired, runny nose, sneezing, etc. This means that I have had plenty of time at home to take pictures and videos of Claire with you guys in mind. Her newest trick is rolling from her back to her side. Skyler and I discover how cute she is over and over again. We just can't get enough!
This is what Claire does for the camera despite the fact that she's sick. She inspires me to be happier at all times.
It's just Claire and me at home while Skyler goes to school. Some days we have the car and we go to the library, the store, campus or to our friend's houses.
Frog slippers!
I think these "first moment" pajamas look so cute on Claire.
Baby toes are so precious. You can only capture them when they're sleeping, otherwise they turn out blurry :)
Practicing sitting without something behind her back to hold her up. She's still working on it.
This is a video of Claire rolling from her back to her side.

Finished Summer Projects
So the first project that I (Skyler) have been working on making a new webpage for the Chemistry Society over the past seven weeks. Now it's finally done and online! Here's the final product. Feel free to look around and let me know if there are any improvements that can be made. My hope is that you can fairly easily find anything you want to know about the Society on that web page. If you have questions that the site does not answer, I'd love to hear them.
Another finished "project" is the GRE test. The GRE is a more intense version of the SAT and ACT that helps to confirm your college transcript just like the other tests do for your high school transcript. The only difference is that I have to take the GRE a whole year before I graduate in order to apply to grad school on time. I went to Pocatello Tuesday and sat at a computer for almost 4 whole hours taking the test. (Other people entered the testing center 10 minutes before me and they were still working when I left, it's a long test!) The computer tells you your "unofficial results" for two of the three sections (I don't know how they can change unless they need to review the video that was watching me to make sure that I didn't cheat). It said I got 161 (86th percentile) in verbal reasoning and 164 (90th percentile) in quantitative reasoning! We'll hear about the writing in week or so. I'll be happy if I get anywhere above the 50th percentile in that section. We'll see...
The last project that we finished was canning and cleanup! Our final count is 20 quarts of peach slices and 6 quarts of peach butter. We decided to do butter because it is less sugar (and an easier recipe). We weren't planning on making butter but apparently we let the peaches get a little too ripe.
Can you tell I wrote this post? All numbers and words and no pictures. For those of you who need a picture of Claire to be able to leave this blog in as good a mood as you came... here are a few!

As Fall Semester Approaches...
We have been dressing warmer:
We have been canning peaches! We've only done it once before. This time we decided to make peach butter while we were at it. Right now the kitchen looks like a giant sticky bomb went off in it, but it'll be worth having the canned goods this winter.
